Why are you dragging out all these nonsense hypotheticals to try and obfuscate a very simple game feature? Why on earth would there be a dozen different bullets for each gun? To go back to my earlier example, were there dozens of different types of bullet that an MG42 might fire? And, see again point one. WHY would the gun be using an increased or decreased charge, and why would it matter? See point one. If there are multiple guns firing the same projectile at the same velocity, they're effectively the same class of gun.
